From Dialogue to Investment: UAE Investors Visit Sri Lanka

Organized and facilitated by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, a team of investors from the United Arab Emirates is currently in Colombo to explore concrete investment opportunities.

During their visit, the delegation met with the Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Parliament, Hon. Wasantha Samarasinghe, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, the Director General of the Export Development Board, and representatives of Colombo Port City.

The discussions focused particularly on opportunities in skills and vocational training development and export-oriented agriculture. The investors will also visit potential investment land sites to assess opportunities for establishing agricultural projects targeting international export markets.

The visit was further facilitated through the Sri Lanka Bankers’ Association, with the support of Mr. Kamal Abeysinghe , strengthening the link between international investors, Sri Lanka’s financial sector and emerging investment opportunities.

This is another tangible outcome of the “Sri Lanka Beyond Your Dreams – Gateway to Trade, Investment and Tourism” flagship event held on 2 September in Dubai, organized by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka, with the participation of Hon. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka, and H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister for Foreign Trade.

The objective is to move beyond discussions, connect serious investors with real opportunities, and turn interest into investment.

Sri Lanka Beyond Your Dreams 02: from dialogue to partnerships, and from partnerships to investment.
