The Consul General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mr. Alexi Gunasekera, together with Head of Chancery Ms. Subashini Silva and Minister Counsellor (Labour) Ms. Manori vidanapathirana met with the Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and his senior management team to discuss strengthening cooperation in healthcare and the welfare of the Sri Lankan community in the UAE.
The discussions focused on enhancing healthcare accessibility for the over 240,000 Sri Lankans living and working in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, expanding opportunities for Sri Lankan healthcare professionals, promoting medical education and training, strengthening public health collaboration, and exploring partnerships in medical and wellness tourism.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer institutional cooperation and developing initiatives that will benefit the Sri Lankan community while further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
